This small Ogliastra village is situated between Ilbono and Arzana, and its territory consists of a zone of undulating hills below a more mountainous area which extends up to 800 metres at the Parco del Carmine (on the road between Lanusei and Villagrande), full of centuries-old holm oaks and springs. Inside the park there are the remains of 2 nuraghi and the fine country church of the Madonna del Carmelo.
In Elini there's a spring whose output is constant throughout the year, and all over there are olive and fruit trees, and vines, as well as larger trees. In the centre of Elini an old granite roadworkers' houses is a sign of the past, above all when the Little Green Train or Trenino Verde is running. Among the local foods are typical sweets, roast meats and ham.
