THINGS TO DO

Hiking in Arzana

Arzana is situated in the heart of Ogliastra, with a huge expanse of territory which extends from the sea to the highest summits of the Gennargentu: from Punta Lamarmora, the highest summit, you can admire spectacular views as far as the island's coastlines. In the large valleys of the Flumendosa there are centuries-old woods such as Tedderieddu and the Perreddu holm oak. Arzana's nuragic origins are confirmed by the presence of various archaeological remains, of which the most important is the Ruinas complex.
Arzana is a mountain agricultural centre, with its woods home to mouflon, partridges, hares and rabbits. Noteworthy are the Neolithic Domus de Janas at Perdixi and the numerous nuragic remains at Unturgiadore, Sa'e Cartocce and Sa Tanca.
